Moritz Grossmann BENU Power Reserve Salmon: A Fusion of Contemporary Elegance and Time-Honored Watchmaking Craftsmanship
The Moritz Grossmann Glashütte I/SA watch brand introduced a linear power reserve indicator to the Benu model line a decade ago. Now, the limited edition BENU POWER RESERVE Salmon reimagines this model with a captivating blend of modern aesthetics and traditional watchmaking artistry.
A Blend of Haute Horlogerie and Fine Aesthetics Moritz Grossmann combines haute horlogerie and fine aesthetics in this timepiece, showcasing the brand’s versatile skills. The watchmakers create not only elaborately decorated movements but also exquisite decorative elements, such as the delicately tapered rhombus-shaped hands, handcrafted and tempered in blue.
A Splash of Fresh Colour The BENU POWER RESERVE Salmon, limited to 50 pieces, features a dial in the modern and refreshing colour of salmon. This warm and harmonious blend of pink and orange is known for its relaxing and positive effect. The salmon dial is complemented by blue Arabic numerals with clear typography and a dark gray minute track, offering enhanced readability.
The linear power reserve indicator on the upper half of the dial is designed as a bar-shaped display element in white and blue, indicating the movement’s power reserve. When fully wound, the display appears entirely white, gradually revealing the blue portion as the power reserve decreases, thanks to a clever differential gear.
Perfect Mechanics with Innovative Extras While the watch boasts a sporty and elegant appearance, it houses a traditional mechanical hand-wound movement, the calibre movement 100.2. The movement’s fine finishing is visible through the glass back, showcasing the characteristic Glashütte stripe finish and the hand-engraved balance cock holding the shock-resistant Grossmann balance. Other notable features include white sapphires as jewels set in gold chatons and held by brown-violet screws.
The movement features an innovative hand-setting mechanism regulated by an additional pusher below the crown, preventing foreign particles from entering the case during time adjustment. This mechanism, invented by Moritz Grossmann, changes the crown’s function with a short pull to set the hands and simultaneously stop the movement. Pushing the crown back restarts the movement.
Limited Edition of 50 Pieces in Stainless Steel The BENU POWER RESERVE Salmon is limited to 50 pieces, featuring a slim three-piece stainless steel case with a delicate bezel. It is paired with a hand-stitched navy blue alligator leather strap.
