Description
Sinn 105 St Sa W UTC
Model:105.021
The modern sports watch with 24hr second time zone
Sinn’s 105 St Sa W UTC combines a technical, sporty look with modern specs to deliver a diverse range of functions, including a second time zone indication system which doubles up as a versatile orientation tool.
Multi-zone function: The bidirectional rotating bezel with 24-hour ratcheting allows you to set up alternate time zones, eliminating the necessity to separately adjust UTC hands. As a result, adjusting the bezel to local times only takes a few seconds once aligned with the orange UTC hand positioned via the crown. Of course, you can also set the UTC hand in the conventional way using the crown and leave the rotating bezel in its initial position. But the option to manipulate the bezel affords more freedom and quicker multiple zone adjustment.
Orientation function: If you require direction, the arrow-shaped UTC hand can also be used to roughly determine cardinal points, when the current position of the sun is visible. If you’re located in the northern hemisphere, position the dial horizontally and turn the watch so that the 12-hour hand (ignoring daylight savings time) points to the sun. The 24-hour hand then points to the north. In the southern hemisphere, the hour hand of the watch can also be used for rough compass approximations. Hold the watch horizontal and point the twelve o’clock mark in the direction of the sun. The north-south line should lie half way between the hour hand and the twelve o’clock mark – although there are km-long threads in watch blogs that counter this advice. Perhaps it’s a chance to try your hand at orienteering.
In terms of structure and form, the rotating bezel has a captive connection to the bead-blasted case and its Black Hard Coating on a TEGIMENT Technology basis lends the watch a professional overall look.
The 105 St Sa GMT dial comes in matt black with a generous date window at 6 o’clock and accents in orange.
