Description

Tutima Patria GMT silver dial
Patria 6611-02

A Globetrotter from Glashütte

Elegant sophistication characterizes the new Patria GMT from Tutima Glashütte. Both the time at the wearer’s home and at his destination can be read at a glance from the finely silver-plated dial of this cosmopolitan timepiece. Intricately handcrafted in-house and meticulously polished 18-karat gold hands with ground and matted bevels indicate the hours and minutes with unostentatious grace. The hour in a second time zone is shown on a subdial at the “6”, where the blued GMT hand contrasts with the continually running second-hand. The former can be set to indicate any desired local time, even if it differs from the time in a neighbouring zone by a quarter-hour or a half-hour.

The noble understatement of this “watch of the world” can only be guessed at when peering through the sapphire crystal in the back of the case. The Patria is powered by a precision-engineered masterpiece: Tutima’s hand-wound Calibre 619, which is built on the premises of the Tutima manufactory and in accord with classic Glashütte tradition. This version of the calibre also serves as the accurate timekeeper inside the gold watches of the Patria family.

One of this movement’s many special features is its in-house escapement. The index-free oscillating system includes an individually calculated Breguet hairspring, which terminates in a curve that has been manually bent and drawn upward. The spring is held by a pinned, firmly attached stud. Rarely found in this form nowadays, the combination is a delight for connoisseurs who appreciate the utmost in horological artistry.

The aesthetics of the individual components and the entire movement likewise raise aficionados’ pulse rates. All surfaces of the calibre are embellished with straight graining or manual polishing and are also given elaborate peripheral grinding. The highest degree of accuracy coupled with the immaculate beauty of complex mechanisms are the ticking results of dedication and precision in every detail.

Tutima Glashütte’s new Patria GMT is available with a hand-stitched leather strap.
