The 1746 Heimat pays homage to Sinn’s home city in Germany, Frankfurt am Main. And that’s exactly what the name Heimat means … hometown.
The extremely fine rhodium-coated relief dial is inspired by the traditional diamond pattern of Frankfurt’s popular cider glasses, also known as Gerippte. The three-dimensional diamond pattern creates an incredibly vibrant interplay of light and shade on the cider glasses and this effect has been carried over to the dial of the 1746.
In fact, a close look at the relief on the watch dial reveals that it is just as vibrant and three-dimensional, with a wide range of surface characteristics – from polished to matte silk – that capture and reflect light as you move. The light play is a result of the electroforming technique used in the production process. This method allows complex three-dimensional surface structures to be achieved with a high degree of precision. The relief dial is coated with rhodium, a precious metal similar to platinum, which gives the dial its exquisite silver-white shine.
Teamed up with your favourite band this piece can be as bold or subtle as you please and at 42mm the polished steel case sits comfortably on most wrist sizes.
Our Tip: Try this on a grey suede band to really enhance the dial detail.
