Mühle-Glashütte S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Edition 1994

Description

Mühle-Glashütte S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Edition 1994
Model: M1-03-1994-KB

155 piece Limited Edition, with ONLY 2 pieces available for the Oceanic market!

The limited special edition: Striking. Extravagant. Exclusive. The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Edition 1994 shows its stylish side for the anniversary. Its black-coated stainless steel case, combined with the deep dark blue of the rubber bezel and strap, gives the watch—which is limited to 155 pieces—an appearance as strong in character as it is individual.

The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer is probably the best-known watch from Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte. Since February 2002, it has been in use by sea rescuers on the North and Baltic Seas. Thanks to its practical, extremely robust design, it has also earned a legendary reputation. Over the 22 years of its production, more than 12,000 watches have found their way onto the wrists of watch enthusiasts worldwide. The 1994 limited edition of the Mühle single-use watch now adds 155 exclusive pieces to this success story.

In 2024, Mühle-Glashütte celebrates the 30th anniversary of the family business in its current form. The anniversary finds appropriate expression in the 1994 Edition, which was launched in January 2024 with the 29er Big BRONZE Edition 1994. This edition consists of selected Mühle watches that will be presented on various occasions throughout the anniversary year. In keeping with the 155-year tradition of entrepreneurship in Glashütte, the wristwatch models are limited to 155 pieces each. Every 1994 edition is equipped with specific anniversary features. These may include various elements in Mühle blue: be it the dial color or case components. In keeping with the anniversary, the 30th day of the month and the minute track are also particularly emphasized.

Dressed in Black: The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Edition 1994

April plays a very special role in Mühle-Glashütte’s anniversary year: the independent Glashütte family business was first founded in April 1869 by Robert Mühle, and in April 1994 Hans-Jürgen Mühle gave it its current form. It is only logical that an equally special Mühle watch is enriching the 1994 edition this month: the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer.
The 1994 edition features a black PVD-coated (physical vapor deposition) stainless steel case. This gives the new special edition its very own character. Be it an elegant business limousine or a tuxedo for a formal dinner, we associate the color black not only with timeless elegance and exclusivity but also with a high standard of aesthetics and individuality. The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Edition 1994 expresses this not only with its deep black case but also with the Mühle blue rubber bezel and the matching strap. The latter is secured with a black DLC-coated (diamond-like carbon) stainless steel folding clasp and holds the 42-millimetre special edition securely on the wrist.

In addition, the wearer of the new S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Edition 1994 can look forward to the familiar advantages of the Mühle tool watch: it can withstand a tremendous water pressure of up to 100 bar, and the 4-millimeter thick, scratch-resistant, and anti-reflective sapphire crystal with a date magnifier inserted from the inside is particularly worth mentioning. This ensures an unclouded view of the excellently legible dial at all times. Unlike the standard version of the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer, it features pure white indices. Like the matte gray stainless steel hands, they are coated with white Super-LumiNova. In addition, there are other anniversary features of the 1994 edition: with its bright light blue, the second hand with a white tip is particularly eye-catching. It corresponds with the 30 of the same color within the minute track, while the 55 is replaced by a white 155 in keeping with the 155-year tradition of the Glashütte watch manufacturer. On the 30th of each month, the date display also appears in bright light blue.

Finally, the reliable SW 200-1, Mühle version, should be mentioned. After the assembly of the finely finished components, it is elaborately regulated in six positions using the shock-resistant woodpecker neck regulation system. Its rate values are set so that they lie between 0 and +8 seconds/day. The in-house regulation specification is based on the chronometer standard and is also intended to prevent the watch from running down. After all, no wearer of a Mühle watch should be late because of his watch. The crowning glory of the movement is the exclusive Mühle anniversary rotor. It is reserved exclusively for the limited edition 1994 models and has a special engraving, which is produced in an additional work step after the rotor blade has been finished and galvanized. As a result, the 30th anniversary logo and the lettering “Edition 1994” appear in gold.
