Description
Mühle-Glashütte Teutonia II GMT (stainless steel bracelet)
Model Reference: M1-33-96-MB
The Teutonia II GMT in elegant, dark green is part of the classic Teutonia collection created by Mühle-Glashütte. The successful Teutonia collection was introduced in 2002 with a view to pay tribute to watchmaking tradition, by incorporating some of the higher-end complications, finishes and case materials that are coveted by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This watch impresses wearers with its stylish green palette which conveys a sportier style, developed for the Sport II collection. The dial is predominantly dark green but features key indications for the second time zone in a lighter green hue to deliver contrast without straying from the intended colourway. The fine sunray finish on the dial catches and reflects light in a dynamic way to deliver a unique appearance. Other typical features of this collection include a textured stripe across the centre of the dial, a slightly lowered ring around the edge of the dial for the minute scale and hand applied, bevelled hour indices. As such, this piece delivers a classic interpretation of the GMT complication, which displays the precise time in a local time zone and a second time zone.
By combining these design features, Mühle-Glashütte has achieved a clear dial layout that both underlines and fulfils the main purpose of the watch: to provide excellent readability of all time details. In the case of the Teutonia II GMT, this not only concerns the local time but also the time in a second time zone. Indeed, the 24-hour scale for the secondary zone time is surrounded by the lower outer ring showing that shows the local time and has been given a matte finish to clearly differentiate the two times displayed. For further clarity, the number 24 on the GMT scale is highlighted by a light green colour, just like the GMT hand. This hand makes its way around the GMT scale over a period of 24 hours and therefore quickly indicates whether it is day or night in the secondary time zone. The clear yet elegant face is mounted in a high-quality stainless-steel case measuring 41 millimetres in diameter with polished, volute-shaped lugs that match the polished bezel. In this carefully considered design, the varied surface finishes of the watch face continue into the case, resulting in an impressive overall appearance that shows just how much love, care, and attention to detail went into Mühle-Glashütte’s Teutonia II GMT, from the development phase right through to the final production.
Anyone looking for a stylish yet useful companion for their work trip, vacation or simply to stay connected with distant family and friends, will find the Teutonia II GMT a perfect match.
