A first for this independent watchmaker, made even more impressive by the fact that the high-grade, titanium cases will be manufactured in-house , according to Dornblüth’s exacting standards.
As with all Dornblüth pieces, certain customisations are available but the overall look and feel is traditional, classic design interpreted with modern materials to ensure durability and style.
Dornblüth & Sohn’s striking, in-house calibre Q-2010 beats at the heart of the Quintus Centre Second Collection. The collection is available in three model ranges: Quintus Center Second, Quintus Center Second Regulator and Quintus Center Seconds Power Reserve.
Each piece offers unique functionality in a tidy 38.5mm case so it is perfectly suited to slimmer wrist sizes. A special technical feature of the Quintus Centre Second collection is the concealed center second drive located under the main bridge. As a result, the movement affords a more aesthetic appearance because its overall height is reduced. This allows the wearer to enjoy the exposed, patented Maltese Cross feature on view. In conjunction with the double spring-cage drive and short-armature locking, it ensures almost linear force transmission and significantly improved gear ratios, combining beauty with functionality as only the Germans can.
The Maltese Cross finetuning system is usually placed under the barrel and out of view but the watchmakers at Dornblueth & Sohn chose to make this sophisticated, special construction visible through a generous sapphire crystal, exhibition case back. In this way, the observer can view the Maltese Cross at work with its locking mechanism engaging in the crown wheel, and fully appreciate the finely crafted technical detail realised by the skilled watchmakers at Dornblueth & Sohn.
The Quintus Center Second Power Reserve showcases the Power Reserve model takes the Centre Second as its base and includes the additional complication of a power reserve gauge. The Power Reserve gauge is displayed in an innovative arch segment set into the lower half of the dial. The dial remains uncluttered and the gauge is easy to read so you always have control over the length of time the movement will continue to run.
