Description
Dornblüth & Sohn 99.6-M Moon Phase silver dial
As time passes, the moon remains constant in its cycle, reminding us to accept change as a natural part of life.
The predictable waxing and waning has guided astronomers, scientists, mathematicians, seafarers and agriculturalists for millennia.
A Moon Phase timepiece captures this continual movement for its wearer to follow and enjoy, or use, as need may be.
Dornblueth & Sohn’s Moon Phase is no exception with its subtle placement of the moon disc at 6 o’clock. This position was selected to ensure optimal visibility in an uncluttered section of the dial. It also allows for the inclusion of a small second sub-dial at 9 o’clock and Power Reserve gauge at 3 o’clock.
An interesting addition to this model is the moon count-down display shown in a small window located towards the centre of the dial. The numbers shown on a light background indicate a waxing moon, dark background indicates waning. Once again, this adds functionality without complicating or over-crowding the dial.
The 99.6 Moon Phase is available with a light or dark dial. The engraved, silver-plated dial features classic Dornblueth & Sohn features such as flame-blued hands and black indices. It is elegant and charming and definitely enhanced with the addition of the moon phase indication.
