The U1 DS model, limited to 500 pieces, is a very special timepiece in Sinn’s collection. This limited edition diving watch retains all of the features and functions of the much-loved U1 model with the enhancement of a specially ground dial. Each dial is individually crafted with an irregular, decorative pattern designed to catch and reflect light nuances in an exciting manner. Each watch is a unique piece because the impression achieved during the machining process can never be exactly repeated. But, rest assured, it’s not all just design, the graining is fine enough to allow for perfect readability and contrast thanks to the striking form, bold hands with generous luminous coating and overall minimalistic display.
Alongside these optical characteristics, the U1 DS also boasts impressive technical features. The case and crown are made of high-strength, seawater-resistant, German Submarine steel, which delivers outstanding non‑magnetic properties. In addition, the surface of the case and the captive diver’s bezel with minute ratcheting have also been hardened with Sinn’s TEGIMENT Technology, rendering them especially scratch‑resistant.
The U1 DS guarantees reliability and precision, even under extreme conditions, so much so that the DNV GL has verified and certified the U1 DS’s pressure resistance to a diving depth of 1,000 metres and its temperature resistance and functionality in accordance with the European diving equipment standards.
