Alexander Shorokhoff’s delightful 24-hour watch “Day & Night” features a Manual windingmovement caliber 2423 set into a 43.5mm satinised steel case as a functional backdrop to the eye catching dial design.
Although the attractive dial is the attention-grabber, the hand-engraved movement is equally as impressive and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back for optimal enjoyment.
The dial is clean and open, divided into two equal halves, just like the day at the equator. The top portion of the dial carries a sun emblem and symbolises traditional daylight hours while the bottom half, featuring a crescent moon shows time during the PM phase. The centre of the dial has an additional 24 hour scale set on an aqua-coloured mother-of-pearl backdrop which symbolises our blue planet.
Typical of all Avantgarde timepieces in the Shorokhoff collection, all large digits 20, 40 and 60, are enhanced with luminous paint to ‘outshine’ the refined mother-of-pearl dial and enhance legibility.
