The Teutonia III Manual Small Second
The Teutonia III Manual from Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte demands a perfect gentleman. With a slight tendency towards extravagance, classic style and a charismatic entrance, the timepiece is able to move in any society – and requires a proper amount of attention at the same time.
The Teutonia III Manual Small Second does not always have to be the center of attention – but it would not object to that either. With a perfectly designed exterior, this timepiece has a classic and elegant appearance. The minute track, the “Chemin de fer”, as it is called, as well as the extravagantly treated face, call to mind the sophisticated appearance of classic pocket watches. A fivefold lacquer, with alternating application and polishing, give the face a special deepness and characteristic enamel look. The traditional appearance of fluted bevel and white face attains a casual touch by its Roman numerals and elegant indices. The blue crocodile leather watchstrap causes a playful facet by the masterly arrangement of the tempered Breguet hands. However, the hand- wound movement is also able to bring to light the eccentric character of the timepiece. If it is not obligingly attended to every 42 hours and wound up again, the Teutonia III Manual Small Second takes offense and ceases operating.
The face design, bound by tradition with a tendency towards perfectionism, is appropriately reflecting the character of the hand-wound movement of the MU 9415. The transmission wheel and ratchet wheel are stored in the traditional Glashütte three-quarter plate and ennobled with solarization. The three-quarter plate receives the characteristic Glashütte ribbing for timepieces. Tempered screws and the ruby red color of the jewel bearings turn the new hand-wound movement into a real feast for the eyes. A look at the insides of the timepiece is granted by the window in the back. Here, the timepiece is pleased about the interest of a true timepiece connoisseur. The perfect end of this masterpiece forms the stainless steel casing with the characteristic perpendicular finish and volute-shaped lugs with its polished top side.
As a model with a small second, the Teutonia III Manual introduces a sophisticated aspect into the Mühle-Glashütte family of hand-wound movement timepieces and at the same time creates an integral visual experience. With an extravagant touch and classic charisma, this new model brightens up its wearer’s time – provided that the wearer devotes enough time to his Teutonia III Manual Small Second.
