Hanhart S 105 OE GMT
Hanhart’s new, strictly limited S-Series celebrates a very special anniversary: 50 years of the Saab 105 aircraft in the Austrian Air Force.
The underlying design of the S-Series instrument watch collection is based on cockpit clocks in the Saab 105 aircraft, bringing a piece of Austrian Air Force history to the wrist.
The S 105 OE and S 105 OE GMT are based on the cockpit clocks in the Saab 105s used by the Austrian Air Force and the SK 60 GMT is based on the clock of the Swedish model of the Saab 105, which is called SK 60.
As with each piece within Hanhart’s collection, the focus is on functionality, quality and contemporary aesthetics. These elements are in-line with the company’s guiding principles of: maximum precision, reliability, perfect readability, simple design, secure operation and the greatest possible robustness.
The S-Series is available as a standard Centre Second as well as a GMT timepiece. Each version is limited to 105 pieces.
With a case diameter of 40mm, the model wears extremely well, even on slimmer wrists. And the simple design with highly luminous markers, set against the black PVD case, ensures optimal legibility even in dimly lit environments.
Each piece has a closed in case back emblazoned with the Saab 105 insignia.
In 1970, the Saab 105 OE was introduced in the Austrian Air Force. Arguable the most important deviation from the basic model SK60 was the engine.
The Austrian version has GE engines of 1290kp each delivering significantly more thrust and almost twice as much power as the original SK 60. Hanhart’s S 105 OE GMT model retains this structured design and functionality to deliver a watch built to perform with the added feature of a second time zone/GMT function.
