Description

Dornblüth & Sohn 99.1 Silver Dial filled numerals

Dornblueth & Sohn’s classic 99.1 collection has been designed for lovers of the classic Calibre timepieces and subtle aesthetics.

The Calibre 99.1 movement has long been a favourite of watch afficionados for its elegant reduction to the essentials of time. The centred hour and minute hands enjoy centre stage while the seconds tick away in a space of their own on a subtle sub dial located at 6 o’clock. Everything about this classic model appeals to the functional and design principles of minimalism. Thanks to the contemporary style of the numerals and sleek hands, Dornblueth & Sohn’s 99.1 exists happily in modern times but is built on years of tradition and watchmaking heritage.

The Silver dial with filled indices delivers a crisp-looking dial with excellent contrast for optimal legibility.

The Caliber • After some time, the two master watchmakers found that the calibre 99.0 with its small subsidiary second needed a somewhat more harmonic face. The pure design of the Cal. 99.0 was supposed to be continued nevertheless in the dial. Different issues had been in consideration, but the increasing of the small “second” played the favourite role. With the help of a long-standing friend of the family the new face of Cal. 99.1 was born.
