Unpacking the new Sinn 104 St Sa I MG
Join us in unpacking Sinn’s striking 104 St Sa I MG.
This model delivers everything Sinn fans love about the 104 I (or indices) collection but with the backdrop of a simmering green, metallic dial.
The metallic dial effect is rather subdued indoors – or under dim light – which works well informal settings, but it really springs to life in the sun. The special metallic finish reflects light and throws colour, creating a very eye-catching show when outdoors, in action.
As we move around the dial, you’ll notice the key information points remain the same as with all 104 models. A centred, syringe-style hour and minute and finer spade-style second hand offer good contrast and have a generous coating on lume for night viewing. The date and day window sits in clear view at the 3 o’clock position and offers the option of German or English language weekdays.
The captive bezel retains the gloss black finish similar to all 104 models and frames the dial nicely. It also forms a protective barrier between the polished steel case and anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
The case itself is 41 millimetres and has a polished finish which carries through to the lugs and screw-down crown with built-in side guards. Because of the screw-in crown and case seals, the case is 20 bar pressure-resistant and 200m water-resistant.
Options to fit leather, silicone or metal bracelets are available. If you plan to wear this watch in water, silicone or metal may be the better option as they both give you a longer band life.
If we look at the back of this watch, we see an open case back which is anti-reflective on one side and offers a glimpse of the Sellita SW220-1, self-winding movement with second stop function. Sinn has also enhanced the magnetic field protection in-line with German D.I.N.8309 requirements for added reliability.
The 104 St Sa I MG is a Sinn instrument watch that adheres perfectly to the requirements of instrument watches… namely: legibility, reliability and performance plus it offers a little something extra in terms of individuality with its stunning green, metallic dial. It’s a welcome addition to Sinn’s 104 collection.
