The importance of precise measurement underpinned the philosophy of our company founder, Robert Mühle, from the start. The Metior’s face derives from a Mühle measuring instrument from 1900 set in a modern case. Our timepieces keep accurate time – whatever the year of their manufacture.

That is why we have made a square clock this time, calling it Quadrant. It has to do with our nautical origins: in ship navigation, a quadrant refers to a defined square area, usually a sea region. We have given it our usual ingredients, including reliability and precision. And also a very high degree of legibility. But square. We could not have done otherwise: the square is, so to speak, the circle among rectangles.

derived its name from the brightest star in the Scorpio constellation: Antares.

The Antaria chronograph in particular is a credit to its namesake, and is a shining example when it comes to clarity of display and precision. Using nickel-plated hands and hour numerals, we have succeeded in making them stand out clearly from the silky shimmering face. The, for a chronograph, much-reduced minute graduation adds to the overall clarity.

Mühle-Glashütte considerably exceeds the requirements laid down for chronometers by DIN 8319. The outstanding accuracy of their chronometers is achieved by means of ultra-modern electronics with a selected, artificially aged, temperature-stabilised 4.19 MHz piezoelectric quartz. They are well aware of the tough demands placed on the robustness of their chronometers at sea.

As with all Mühle products, the readability of the timepiece stands in the forefront. Their chronometers have a clear, non-reflecting face with a separate scale for the second hand, which moves smoothly without vibrations. The time can also be read when the lid is closed.

Independent of the On-board Electronics: Marine Navigation Set

Even in an age of GPS systems and satellite navigation, a sextant and chronometer are still recommended equipment for a luxury or ocean-going yacht. Because they are independent of the on-board electronics and therefore indispensible as an emergency system.

The marine navigation set by Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte combines these traditional instruments into an astronomical position-finding system at sea. It consists of a Mühle marine chronometer and a Freiberger drum sextant. It thus includes two high-grade instruments from the leading manufacturers.
